First story

Hello. I am Jiwoo Lee, the CEO of Outstanders, which operates Bagstrap. We are providing a service through a mobile app, and as several developers were replaced during the initial app building process, technical debt accumulated and we faced serious problems.

Project background

The reason I started again

    During the process of building early mobile apps, libraries and dependencies were poorly maintained for several years due to frequent changes in developers. Flutter remained out of date, and the libraries it was using were either deprecated or had security vulnerabilities discovered. In the end, we received distribution rejection warnings from the App Store and Play Store, making normal updates difficult.

    Hyunje first analyzed the existing code base and library compatibility and then proceeded with the Flutter version upgrade step by step. At the same time, code written inconsistently by multiple developers was standardized and the architecture was redesigned to improve maintainability.

    As a result, deployment rejection warnings and security issues were resolved, and we switched to a library compatible with the latest Flutter version. By resolving technical debt accumulated over several years and establishing a long-term sustainable structure, we can now operate our services with confidence again.

Developers change frequently and libraries and dependencies have not been maintained for years. Over time, Flutter versions became outdated, and some libraries became deprecated and had security vulnerabilities. Our experience together

Previous Flutter version

First, we upgraded Flutter to the latest version. This was a complex migration task that required addressing numerous compatibility changes rather than simply changing version numbers. We proceeded step by step, carefully checking the compatibility of each library with the existing code base, and even unexpected errors were quickly found and resolved.

Systematic structural improvement

The entire app has been reorganized along with the version upgrade. We standardized code written in different ways by different developers and clarified state management and data flow. By redesigning the architecture with a focus on reusable components, we created a code base that can be quickly understood even if the next developer takes over.

Reliable stable deployment

After the migration and structural improvements were completed, the app could be distributed normally again. Deployment rejection warnings and security issues have been resolved, and libraries have been updated to fit the latest Flutter environment. By documenting the work process, we have established an operational foundation that can lead to future handover and maintenance.

AlIS (hereinafter referred to as “Company”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws and processes personal information lawfully and safely to protect the freedom and rights of information subjects.

1. Purpose of processing personal information

Personal information is processed to receive quote inquiries and consultations, provide optional AI planning assistants, verify identity, coordinate consultation schedules, and deliver consultation results and related information. Collected personal information will not be used for purposes other than those specified.

2. Items of personal information processed

During the consultation process, we process your name or title, contact information, email address, consultation availability date and time, business goal, field, budget, desired schedule, detailed inquiry details, etc. If you choose to use the AI planning assistant, project responses and AI input will be processed and your name, contact information, and email address will not be transmitted to the AI. During the process of using the website, cookie identifiers, device/browser information, visited pages, inflow path and campaign information, click/form usage records, etc. may be automatically generated and processed.

3. Processing and retention period of personal information

Personal information collected for consultation is retained for one year from the date of collection or until the purpose of consultation is achieved. If there is a storage obligation under relevant laws or if an investigation is in progress, it may be kept for the relevant period.

4. Procedures and methods for destroying personal information

When personal information becomes unnecessary because the retention period has passed or the purpose of processing has been achieved, it is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are irretrievably deleted, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

5. Provision of personal information to third parties

The company processes the personal information of the information subject only within the scope specified in the processing purpose, and does not provide it to third parties except in cases where the information subject consents, processing is entrusted, or transferred overseas as disclosed below, or as otherwise specified by law.

6. Use of web analysis services

The company uses Google Analytics to analyze website usage and marketing performance. The name, contact information, email address and detailed inquiry information entered in the consultation request form will not be transmitted to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics event data storage period is set to 14 months, and users can limit collection through browser cookie settings, etc.

7. Overseas relocation

Web usage information automatically generated during the use of Google Analytics may be transmitted to the country where Google LLC and its related data centers are located. Information is transmitted over an encrypted network and stored for 14 months for web analysis and service improvement purposes. If you choose to use the AI Planning Assistant, your project answers and AI inputs will be used by OpenAI, L.L.C. for answer generation purposes. and may be encrypted and transmitted to the country where the relevant data center is located. OpenAI API requests disable separate conversation storage, and monitoring records for service safety may be kept by default for up to 30 days in accordance with OpenAI's API data policy.

8. Use AI planning assistant

AI Planning Assistant is an optional feature. After the user consents, only the project type, current status, goals, scope and AI conversation input are sent to the OpenAI API. Contact information is separated from AI requests, and users should not enter unnecessary sensitive information such as personal information, medical information, or contractual confidentiality. OpenAI does not use API input and output for model learning by default, and the company operates to reflect AI suggestions in the consultation form only after the user confirms them.

9. Entrustment of personal information processing work

The company transmits the name or title, company name, contact information, email address and contents of the consultation to Channel Corporation Co., Ltd. to notify the reception of consultation and confirm the person in charge, and entrusts the processing of personal information to OpenAI, L.L.C. to generate answers from the optional AI planning assistant. Channel Talk web chat widget is not used. Consignment information is retained until the end of the consignment contract, fulfillment of processing purpose, or retention period disclosed in the service, and necessary matters are stipulated in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

10. Measures to ensure the safety of personal information

We implement safety measures stipulated in relevant laws, such as restricting access to personal information, encrypting personal information, and storing and managing access records.

11. Rights of information subjects and how to exercise them

Information subjects may request to view, correct, delete, and suspend processing of personal information. You can exercise your rights by email or phone, and the company will take necessary action without delay.
